Honestly do it! it's such a beautiful country and there's a wealth of other countries you can visit from there so I doubt you'd slow down! A friend of mine from the UK did that and ended up buying a house in Split. Just saying! 😀
Ibtissam, this whole Wanderletter felt like a deep exhale. I love how you remind us that “travel” isn’t always a boarding pass — sometimes it’s a salt pod, a market stall, or a slow walk in your own postcode. That’s exactly how slow travel reshaped my life too: it taught me that presence is portable.
Your market ritual made me smile — Nigel and I do the same “first hour reconnaissance,” watching how people greet each other, choose their produce, move around the space. It’s one of the quickest ways to understand a place’s rhythm.
And that float pod… now I’m officially curious. The way you describe weightlessness feels like its own kind of journey.
I love the name wanderletter
Thank you ☺️
Beautiful post to wake up to today Ibtissam!
Thanks Bernardette! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
That Croatian Visa has caught my attention a few times. Not sure why, as we move around quite a lot. Maybe it's a sign to slow things down a bit...
